Located just south of Sarasota on Florida's central west coast, Osprey is a small but beautiful waterfront community which is home to over 5,000 residents. If you love boating, you'll have easy access to the south Venice inlet, providing access to the Sarasota Bay passes and the Gulf of Mexico. The weather is mild and pleasant, with plenty of sunny days that will allow you to enjoy the area's beautiful white sand beaches. Besides being located approximately 10 miles from Sarasota, you will also be within driving distance of Tampa and the many attractions and parks in Orlando. Osprey is also home to the Historic Spanish Point and Oscar Scherer State Park. Spanish Point offers a look back into the past of the area, with elaborate gardens and early pioneer dwellings which have been preserved. If you enjoy nature trails, bicycle paths, canoeing, swimming, or just spending a day enjoying everything that nature has to offer, you'll love living so close to Oscar Scherer State Park. The Gulf Coast is a great location if you love shopping, fine dining and the arts, since the area is rich in all of these features.
Osprey combines the natural beauty of Florida's Gulf Coast with many real estate options, including single-family homes, townhouses, condominiums, estate properties and lots for those who wish to build a home. Single-family homes can be found from the low $400,000s and up, with townhouses priced from the mid-$300,000s and up. There are also sprawling estates and homes with vast acreage available.
Osprey is made up of a number of very nice communities, including The Oaks, Southbay, Rivendell, and The Woodlands at Rivendell. The Oaks is the area's premier golf and country club community. Southbay features some of the finest community-owned deep water Marinas that you will find on Florida's west coast. Located just south of downtown Satasota, Rivendell is one of the Osprey's newer neighborhoods. It offers many upscale urban amenities, and the Pine view School is within walking distance. The Woodlands at Rivendell offers a beautiful suburban-styled neighborhood in country-style surroundings, with plenty of recreational features such as community parks and lakes. Residential offerings include village, estate, executive and patio homes. Other beautiful communities in Osprey are Towns End Shores and Sorrento Shores.
