What would you do with a 3+ car garage? Oh, the possibilities. Right away I think of the article I just read (1/13/11) about the “Ferris Bueller House” being on the market in Illinois. If I was in the market for a home with a 3+ car garage I would want 3 things. They are:
1. An Insulated garage door (or DIY) with insulation above the garage
2. Air conditioned space – Mitsubishi makes a single room ductless unit
3. A garage floor finished with an epoxy coating
More than likely you are not going to find a home with these tasks completed, but in my opinion these little projects are fun and not too difficult. A few Rubbermaid fast track kits (for your rakes, shovels, brooms), rugged cabinets or durable bookcases for your tools, extra paint, automotive supplies and cleaning products and you have a nice organized garage. Now with an epoxy coated floor and an insulated and air conditioned garage you are really turning this into more of an indoor room, giving you many options. Consider these ideas:
- A Place to Exercise – Just add a treadmill, elliptical trainer, or free weights
- A Game Room – Pool table, fuse ball, slot machine etc…
