The eight miles of beaches that adorn Siesta Key are separated near the middle of the island by Point of Rocks on the gulf side. The world-famous white sands of Siesta Beach are to the north of Point of Rocks. Near the middle is Crescent Beach, home to a few private stretches of sand. Turtle Beach spans from the Crescent Beach limit all the way to the southernmost tip of Siesta Key.
The Tortuga Condos in Siesta Key are tucked away in a secluded corner of the island. Access to Turtle Beach isn't deed-restricted like in some of the properties on Crescent Beach, but the slightly isolated location makes it almost exclusive to residents of the Tortuga Condos.
The beachfront Tortuga condominium was completed in 1980, one of the first development efforts in the southern portion of Siesta Key. The community is made up of 77 roomy units that feature two and three-bedroom floor plans. Pricing at this elegant condominium starts around $400K for the two-bedroom condos. The stately three-bedroom penthouse units have the most dramatic vistas of the Gulf of Mexico, a two-car garage, and are priced around $1 million.
Boating and fishing enthusiasts will feel right at home with the boat docks in the complex, the nearby boat launch, and the Blind Pass ocean lagoon that just begs to be fished. Residents have indoor and outdoor swimming pools to choose from. The Turtle Beach campground is just steps away from the complex; a great place to entertain guests complete with a playground and picnic area. The abundance of seashells on Turtle Beach make it the most ideal spot for a stroll in Siesta Beach.
Though the Tortuga Condos are tucked away for privacy, they are by no means remotely isolated. A couple of restaurants and pubs are within walking distance, and a nearby causeway offers access to the Sarasota mainland.
