I found a great article from the New York Times about what $250,000 gets you in Bradenton, FL, Columbus, OH, and Keokuk, Iowa. As a real estate professional in the Manatee and Sarasota area the price of the Bradenton Home made sense considering it is on the Manatee River, but I didn’t understand the price for the Columbus home until I looked a little closer. The Columbus home was originally a five-vehicle garage, but converted to a single-family residence in 1979. It being so unique and the location warrants the asking price.
A closer look at the Bradenton Property shows that it is located in the historic district, built in 1938 and recently restored. But if you don’t want to be on the River, there are some great homes out there for $250,000 or less!
