My Florida home is cooled by a 10 SEER (Seasonal Energy-Efficiency Rating) air conditioner that is over 10 years old. It is time to replace and what better time than now considering the 2010 tax credit on air conditioners. Be sure the model your interested in qualifies before purchasing. I thought a 15 SEER was the cutoff, but when I visited the Rheem site it looks like some 13 SEER models qualify also. I would love a little clarification.
Check out the link below that calculates the energy savings between your current ac unit and the new upgrade. For instance we have a 10 SEER (mentioned above) and if we insalled the 15 SEER our savings is over $600 a year with everything factored in.
