Hello, I “Wendy Lynn” am a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty in Lakewood Ranch. I specialize in residential real estate helping buyers and sellers in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. I’m originally from Ohio and moved here in 2005 with my husband. We figured why wait until retirement to enjoy the wonderful weather. Prior to getting into real estate, I worked in the banking industry through college and for over 10 years after graduating. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Ashland University in Ohio with a double major in Management and Finance.
I entered the Real Estate Arena in 2008. Most thought it was a crazy time to get a real estate license because of the housing market collapse, but I felt it was an exciting new challenge. I needed a change and with the encouragement of my husband I decided to go for it. His exact words were, “We love it here, we’ve bought a home here and we don’t want to go anywhere else, so go ahead and build your business”. It’s taken a lot of hard work but my business is growing. My financial background provided a great foundation to transition into real estate. I am able to understand the various financing options for my buyers, which helps me to better serve my clients by bringing the best of both worlds.
Everything I do, I do for my clients. Continuing education is very important! Every two years each Realtor is required to complete continuing education to renew their license. Great Realtors go above and beyond by getting new designations, going to seminars and in house training courses. Also attending classes held by local real estate attorneys about the new laws and changes to our contracts. Real Estate changes daily and you need to make sure your Realtor is keeping up with these changes (I am). Since 2008, I have completed a few designations and am working on a few more. I am currently a Member of The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing; a Certified Distressed Property Expert and a Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource. All the courses I take are to further my knowledge to help my clients.
Real estate is a business that never rests. Along with daily interactions I have with my sellers, buyers and prospective clients, I also take the time to preview properties so I stay familiar with the different neighborhoods throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties. It also helps me stay informed of the inventory of homes out there for my buyers and the competition for my sellers. I preview homes on Siesta Key, Casey Key and other areas. I also frequently visit the builders in the area and know what they have to offer my clients if they want a NEW Home.
Over the last few years I have been Networking and getting to know local vendors that can help my clients. Want to remodel your home? I know building contractors. Need to fix your pool, I know some great people. Want a concierge service that takes care of your home when you are up north for the summer? I know plumbers, electricians, interior designers and anyone else you might need to know.
No one Realtor can do this alone. I have been building my team. Since entering the real estate business I have surrounded myself with a team of people designed to help my customers. I have aligned myself with the best lenders, incredible real estate attorneys, home inspectors that go above and beyond, moving companies and the list goes on. I even recruited my husband to help me with the marketing and advertising of homes for my sellers.
