Personally, I am a full service Realtor, meaning I help both Buyers and Sellers. This blog idea comes from my amazement that there are Realtors out there who only help Sellers by taking listings or only help Buyers find a home. I currently have a buyer that has his home for sale with a Realtor who only works with Sellers. She doesn’t work with Buyers! You are a Realtor that someone entrusted you to sell their most prized possession, their home. You are the one person that they trust the most to help them with the purchase of their next prized possession and you tell them “NO, I don’t take out Buyers?” I am flabbergasted! But wait, I’m not done…not only does that Realtor turn away buyers but she did NOT even help them find a Realtor to work with. That’s why they came looking for me!
If you have a successful online campaign you attract buyers, they come to your site to begin their search. They could take a few weeks to search or take a few months, but they take the time in the comforts of their home to investigate, save searches, ask questions and so on and can do so because you have a good website. If a Realtor only works with Sellers I hope they have a good online presence to maximize their efforts in getting that Seller as much exposure as possible to get the house sold. Promoting through their website and working the social media efforts is the way to go about this. This type of promotion brings the buyers in…. Did you know that the majority of the buyers out there in the market place today start their search online? Let me guess, I bet you are reading this online right now?! As a Realtor, do you turn down every one of these buyers? I would have to say no. There is no way that several times a day you are emailing potential clients back and telling them sorry I only work with sellers. Here’s the deal… sellers sell and then guess what, more than likely they have to turn around and buy. Unless they are moving out of Sunny Sarasota and who would do that???
We work with both Sellers and Buyers. We put a ton of effort and money into our website and social media efforts to sell your home and in doing so this attracts the buyers. I felt the urge to write this because I have heard other Realtors say this kind of thing that they prefer one type of client over the other. A Realtor should do it all! Help you Sell your home and then turn around and help you buy your next home. That is the perfect scenario. Of course if you are out of town that is a little hard to do. Hopefully I made my point. Great online presence helps bring the buyers in and gain the maximum amount of exposure for your listing. Let me know if I can help you Buy or Sell a home today in Sarasota or Manatee County.
