One of the prettiest neighborhoods in Southwest Florida is located in Nokomis. Enchanted Isles is a community of spectacular waterfront residences that dates back to the prosperous days of Old Florida after World War II.
The Enchanted Isles neighborhood of Nokomis sits on an inland peninsula surrounded by Dona Bay to the north and Roberts Bay to the south. There are about 100 homes in Enchanted Isles, and a few of them are modern waterfront mansions with views of the water and the two islands located right before the Venice Jetty.
Traditionally, Enchanted Isles has been a neighborhood that appeals to boaters, anglers and families who wanted to enjoy a quiet life after the war; this is clearly made evident by the Old Florida ranch-style homes and the beach cottages, which often feature wooden piers used for fishing, docking and enjoying sunsets. The rest of the residences at Enchanted Isles are imposing waterfront mansions built in the Mediterranean and Key West styles. Prices start at $850K, but the mansions are typically priced in the millions.
The Enchanted Isles neighborhood features mature Florida vegetation and meticulous landscaping; its unique location makes homeowners feel as if they live in one of the Sarasota Keys, but with the advantage of not having to worry about drawbridges. To get to the Gulf of Mexico, boaters simply launch their boats from their private docks, sailing past Bird Island and Snake Island, and reaching the ocean in less than 30 minutes.
With regard to neighborhood convenience, this neighborhood is just minutes away from two shopping districts along the Tamiami Trail and the Nokomis Community Park, which can be reached by means of a short bike ride. Residents can choose between the beaches of Casey Key or Venice, which are about 10 minutes away.
