In March 2017, the production crew of the hit TNT comedy series “Claws” visited Downtown Sarasota to film exterior scenes with the main stars of the show. The fictional backdrop of “Claws” is a nail salon in Palmetto, and a main plot idea revolves around the manicurists’ dreams of one day moving into a neighborhood such as 1350 Main in the downtown district.
Of all the high rise condominium towers that have reshaped the Downtown Sarasota skyline over the last few years, 1350 Main is one of the most imposing and desirable. It is no surprise that the women of “Claws” would like to live here; after all, 1350 Main is very close to their favorite spots: Lido Key, St. Armands Circle, Siesta Key Beach, and the cultural arts district.
1350 Main looks like if it was teleported from Miami’s Brickell or South Beach neighborhoods; the modern architectural design of the building combines elements of Mediterranean and Art Deco styles. The units range in size from 700 to more than 3,000 square feet; depending on the configuration of the unit, homeowners enjoy panoramic balconies, separate living and dining areas, laundry room with storage space, built-in microwave, natural wood floors, and gourmet kitchens. As of 2017, the one-bedroom units could be found listed for $439K while the larger, two-bedroom units on higher floors and with more attractive views of the Sarasota Bay were listed for $575K.
Life at 1350 Main features incredibly amenities such as concierge service, valet parking, a higher-level swimming pool with barbecue grill area, a movie theater, conference rooms, office space, fitness center, and spa.
The 1350 Main address is one of the major selling points of this neighborhood, and it explains why unit values appreciate so quickly: Five Points Park, Marina Plaza and Bayfront Park are virtually in the backyard of the condominium along with the Selby Public Library, Whole Foods Market, Starbucks, and Sarasota’s restaurant district.
