Listings for properties at Amberlea are not listed too often, and it is easy to see why. This neighborhood started as a suburban subdivision built from the late 1980s to the end of the 20th century. A steady real estate market at that time allowed prospective homeowners to build single-family residences that were more spacious than average for Sarasota. As a result, four-bedroom homes with three full bathrooms built on 3,500 square feet of air-conditioned space are not unusual in Amberlea. Amberlea was not always a gated community.
