Country Place in Sarasota is a quiet subdivision located just south of the South Gate and Bee Ridge districts. The neighborhood initial development took place in the 1970s and continued for a couple of decades.
As a traditional suburb in Sarasota, Country Place offers home buyers lots of space in terms of lots, homes, sidewalks, streets and green areas. The predominant architectural style is the Florida ranch. Average lot sizes and structures are larger than what first-time home buyers can expect in Southwest Florida these days.
In mid-2016, a 3,000 square foot home built on a 15,000 square feet lot in Country Place could be found listed for less than $500K. Some of the larger listings have been updated to the Mediterranean or Contemporary styles. Other properties have been completely remodeled.
Country Place welcomes all prospective homeowners. However, this is clearly a neighborhood that families will find very appealing due to its ambiance and location. Even though this is not a historic Sarasota neighborhood, it has managed to retain plenty of residential character. This is due to its mature forest spaces, immaculate landscaping and its handsome lake that greets residents and visitors at the entrance.
Country Place is conveniently located south of Proctor Road and east of Beneva Road, not far from the Beneva Village shopping center. Neighbors will find a large Publix supermarket along with restaurants and shops. For even more shopping options, the Westfield Square Mall is nearby.
Country Place residents will find the Red Bough Slough just down the road. Fishing ponds and nature trails are there to be enjoyed. Bee Ridge Park is within a mile for athletics and family picnics. The beaches of Siesta Key are close enough for daily visits: it takes about 10 minutes to drive with no traffic.
